Adopt a DNR Plot
Clean up of a specific Public Hunting Grounds/parking areas in Winnebago County. Dates are scheduled 4-5 times throughout the year.

Leo Kolaszewski (920) 426-0498
Crowing Count
Each spring, beginning in mid-April thru mid-May, chapter volunteers are on the road 45 minutes before sunrise. Each drives a pre-determined 10 mile route, stopping every half mile to listen and record on plat book maps, the location of crowing roosters. This data is supplied to the local DNR biologists as part of an ongoing study, to determine the overall health and population densitites of Ring-necked pheasants in Winnebago County. Routes are generally finished 1 to 1.5 hours after sunrise.
  Youth Hunt
Members and their dogs volunteer to provide a high quality pheasant hunt to youth (ages 11 - 18) who have passed the gun safety course. Along with the hunt is trap shooting instruction and discussion with area hunter safety instructors, wardens and DNR biologists. Lunch is provided for all.
Pheasants Forever membership is NOT required.
